We are currently collating information on Grants that are available for development of Tourism Services and Environmental Sustainability.
The following are a list of organizations that provide grants and the websites which hold information of the various grants that are currently available for tourism initiatives/ rural development and sustainable energy.
Sustainable Energy Ireland operates a number of programmes that provide financial supports to demonstrate superior energy technologies or provide essential support in specifically identified sectors. These supports will allow Ireland become a leader in sustainable supply and the use of energy. Funding is available in the following areas:
• Renewable Energy RD&D
• Home Energy Saving Pilot
• ReHeat Deployment
• CHP Deployment
• EU FP7 Programme
• Greener Homes Scheme
Various grants are available from Clare CEB.
These are: Capital Grant, Employment Grant, Feasibility Grant and Refundable Aid.

Environmental Protection Agency
The Environmental Protection Agency provides funding to support science, technology, research and innovation projects through grant-aid to third level institutions, state agencies, government departments, local and regional authorities, the private sector and individuals. Proposals are invited periodically through calls advertised in the national press and on the EPA website.
Grants for broadleaved woods
There are two types of grants available from the Forest Service for private forestry: those for planting new forest or extending existing forest and those for renewal or replacement of existing woodland.
An afforestation grant of £2,000 is available for planting broadleaves on land suitable for broadleaves and previously unforested.
A reafforestation grant of £800 per hectacre is available for the renewal or replacement of existing forest.
Clare County Council
Clare County Council offers Environment and Heritage grants as outlined on their site.
The kind of projects that the Western Investment Fund invest in are divided broadly into three funds:
A Venture Capital Business Fund which provides loans and equity to high growth enterprises. It has already funded projects in areas such as biotechnology, medical devices, tourism infrastructure and software development.
The Strategic Investment Fund which targets flagship projects and initiatives that would have a major impact on the region, such as Knock Airport.
The Local Investment Fund provides loans to community enterprise groups and has invested in projects ranging from a children’s play area, to a company providing home services for the elderly and disabled, a waterworld project and a community enterprise centre.
